Fortnite Loadout Guide: Weapon Picks for Zero Build and Battle Royale

A good Fortnite loadout balances close-range building fights against the longer engagements that decide the final circles — and that balance looks different in Zero Build than it does in regular Battle Royale.

Zero Build: Prioritize Cover and Mobility

Without building to create your own cover, natural cover and mobility items (shockwaves, launch pads) matter far more. Carry at least one mobility item at all times so you’re never stuck fighting from open ground in the late game.

Battle Royale: Match Weapons to Your Building Speed

If your editing and building speed isn’t fully consistent yet, favor weapons that punish slower opponents at range (a solid AR or marksman rifle) over pure close-range shotgun setups, which demand faster build fights to actually connect.
