Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Ground War and DMZ Guide
Ground War and DMZ move at a different pace than standard 6v6 — map awareness and rotation timing matter more than raw aim, and a few habits make both modes far less chaotic.
Rotate with a plan, not with the crowd
In Ground War, following the loudest gunfight usually means walking into a three-way fight. Rotating toward objectives from the side, using vehicles for cover, gets you into fights on your terms instead of reacting to everyone else’s.
In DMZ, know your exit before you loot
Extraction runs go wrong when players get greedy on loot and get caught mid-exfil. Mark an exit point before you start looting a building, and treat every extra minute inside as a bet against another squad’s rotation.
Weapon platform unlocks carry across a whole family of guns, so time spent leveling one weapon in these larger modes pays off across several others at once.
