League of Legends Rank Guide: Habits That Actually Work
League of Legends rewards patience more than most players expect — a lot of climbing comes down to not losing games you were never going to win anyway. A few consistent habits make a bigger difference than any single mechanical improvement.
Play fewer champions, but play them well
A tight pool of two or three champions per role means you actually learn matchups, item timings, and power spikes instead of relearning basics every game. Save the champion-hopping for normals, not ranked.
Track your deaths, not just your kills
Most rank-limiting mistakes repeat across games — overextending after a kill, missing a ward that would’ve prevented a gank, or fighting without knowing where the jungler is. Reviewing your last few deaths each game surfaces patterns that raw KDA never will.
If solo queue keeps grouping you with inconsistent teammates, a booster playing on your account (or duo queuing with you) can help close the gap while you keep working on mechanics in normals.
